BLIK for you

BLIK for Business

BLIK delivers a strong first half of 2026 – 1.6 billion transactions and over 2 million more active users year-on-year

From January to June 2026, BLIK users completed a total of 1.6 billion transactions worth nearly a quarter of a billion zlotys. The second quarter alone saw more than 800 million transactions, confirming sustained high levels of activity within the system. As the scale grows, so does the scope of its use – at the end of June this year, BLIK had 21.6 million active users, with 6 out of 10 using at least two functions. During the period under review, individual areas of BLIK developed at a similar pace, while recurring payments saw increasingly strong interest among the services offered.

More than 100 transactions per second

In the first half of 2026, BLIK users completed a total of 1.6 billion transactions worth €56.56 billion (PLN 244.8 billion). Compared with the same period last year, the number of transactions increased by 13%, while their value rose by 18%. During this period, users completed an average of 8.7 million BLIK transactions per day, while the average value of a single transaction was €35.81 (PLN 155). On the busiest day of the reporting period, 12,6 million transactions were recorded.

We have had a very good first half of the year. At BLIK’s current scale, double-digit growth confirms that the system still has significant potential for further development. At the end of the first half of the year, we had 21.6 million active users, which is why we are already looking not only at further growth in their number, but also at how intensively and how broadly they use BLIK. In the coming quarters, we want to develop both of these areas – expanding our active user base and increasing the frequency with which existing users use all of the system’s services. As BLIK continues to broaden its range of applications, greater user activity will play an increasingly important role in transaction volumes and the further development of the entire system

– says Monika Król, Vice President of Polish Payment Standard, the operator of BLIK.

The internet continues to generate the largest transaction volume

In the first half of 2026, e-commerce accounted for 48.5% of all BLIK transactions. From January to June this year, users made 766.7 million online payments, with a total value of €28.77 billion (PLN 124.5 billion). This represents an increase of 16% in the number of transactions and 22% in their value compared with the same period last year. Between April and June alone, consumers completed 387.8 million online payments worth €14.74 billion (PLN 63.8 billion). Across the entire first half of the year, the average value of a single online transaction was €37.43 (PLN 162), while users completed an average of 4.2 million such transactions per day. June 10 proved to be a record day for e-commerce – on that day, users made 5.7 million online payments.

Recent months have also seen a clear increase in interest in recurring payments. In the first half of 2026, their number increased 20-fold year-over-year, reaching 3.6 million, and their total value amounted to 166 million PLN. This is one of the most promising areas for BLIK’s continued growth in e-commerce – each new category of recurring payments increases the number of situations in which users can choose BLIK. The potential for further scaling of this service therefore remains very significant

– says Katarzyna Matuszczyk, CFO Board Member at Polish Payment Standard, the operator of BLIK.

The service is already available through more than 100 BLIK partners, including OpenAI, Canal+, Euro RTV AGD, Player, PZU, Polsat Box, Allegro and Onet Premium. The brand is developing this function both for subscriptions and online services, as well as for regular payments, allowing an increasing number of recurring obligations to be set up and managed directly from the banking app.

Nearly half of POS payments are contactless

From January to June this year, users completed 378.8 million transactions at payment terminals, worth €5.43 billion (PLN 23.5 billion). In the second quarter alone, their number exceeded 200 million for the first time, confirming the significant scale of BLIK payments in physical stores. On a half-year basis, this represents an increase of 12% in the number of transactions and 20% in their value compared with the same period last year. The average value of a single payment was €14.32 (PLN 62). Users chose BLIK codes almost as often as contactless payments – the former accounted for 203.3 million transactions and the latter for 175.5 million. Overall, the POS channel accounted for nearly a quarter of all BLIK transactions.

We still see enormous growth potential in the POS channel. One of the next drivers of our growth will be making BLIK contactless payments available to iPhone users – a highly transactionally active group that often spends above-average amounts on purchases. We have already completed the first pilot transaction on iOS with PKO BP, and we are now working on a broader rollout of the service over the coming months. We want the user experience to be just as convenient as with other contactless payment methods, including the option to set BLIK as the default payment method. Expanding the availability of this option should translate into a higher share of BLIK in transactions carried out through the POS channel

– adds Katarzyna Matuszczyk.

2.2 million mobile transfers per day

In addition to payments for purchases, BLIK is also widely used for quick transfers between users. In the second quarter, the number of such transactions exceeded 200 million for the first time. From January to June this year, a total of 393.6 million such transactions were completed, worth €15.62 billion (PLN 67.6 billion), which translates into an average of 2.2 million transfers per day. The average value of a single transaction during the period under review was €39.72 (PLN 172). The P2P user base now consists of 20.7 million registered users.

Cash not only from ATMs

Although ATM transactions account for a small share of BLIK’s overall transaction volume, bank customers regularly use this function to manage cash. In the first half of the year, they made 5.6 million deposits and 35,5 million withdrawals, with the number of deposits increasing by 12.8% year-on-year and withdrawals by 8.1%. This channel is complemented by cashback in physical stores – between January and June this year, users withdrew cash while making purchases 700,000 times, 135% more than a year earlier.

The scale of operations translates into financial results

The growth in the number and value of BLIK transactions is reflected in the financial results of the system operator. In 2025, the revenue of Polish Payment Standard increased by 16% to €113.05 million (PLN 489.5 million), while net profit amounted to €45.75 million (PLN 198.1 million). The EBITDA margin stood at 47%. At the same time, the company increased its investments in technology, service development and projects conducted outside Poland.

The scale of BLIK’s operations allows us to finance investments from our own business activities and run several major projects in parallel. In our model, some investments naturally precede their revenue impact – technological infrastructure, security, integrations with partners or launching a new service require investment before they translate into a higher number of transactions. That is why, alongside current financial performance, we also look at the company’s ability to finance subsequent stages of development without the need to change its current financing model

– emphasizes Monika Król.

BLIK is a common standard for mobile payments. The option to use BLIK in mobile banking applications is now available to virtually every customer of domestic payment institutions offering a mobile app. The company Polski Standard Płatności (PSP) is responsible for developing the system. PSP continuously enhances BLIK’s functionality to make the system as user-friendly and versatile as possible. The shareholders of PSP are Alior Bank, Millennium Bank, Erste Bank Polska, ING Bank Śląski, mBank, PKO Bank Polski, and Mastercard.
