OpenAI users can now pay for service subscriptions, including ChatGPT Plus access, using BLIK Recurring Payments. The solution has been made available through cooperation with Stripe, the programmable financial services company      that powers payments for millions of businesses worldwide. This marks another milestone in the development of the BLIK Recurring Payments ecosystem and further strengthens the partnership between BLIK and Stripe.

The popularity of AI-powered tools continues to grow rapidly. According to Gemius data, as early as October 2025, ChatGPT was used by 10.2 million internet users in Poland, reaching one in three internet users nationwide. At the same time, ChatGPT surpassed one billion monthly active users globally, becoming the fastest-growing application of its kind in the world.

With BLIK Recurring Payments now available, users can conveniently pay for their OpenAI subscriptions without having to initiate each payment manually. The service is activated only once, while subsequent payments are processed automatically according to the subscription schedule. At the same time, users retain full control over their commitments – they can review active subscriptions and manage them directly from within their banking app.

More and more digital services today operate on a subscription-based model. We are pleased that BLIK Recurring Payments support users in their everyday digital activities and address the growing demand for convenient access to modern online services. The availability of this payment method for OpenAI users demonstrates that BLIK is becoming a natural way to pay for digital services that Poles use regularly. Importantly, paying for a subscription with BLIK not only simplifies the initial payment process but also provides full convenience when it comes to managing subscriptions directly through a banking app

says Magdalena Kubisa, Director of Business Development at Polish Payment Standard, the operator of BLIK.

BLIK Recurring Payments is one of the fastest-growing services within the BLIK ecosystem. In the first quarter of 2026 alone, users completed more than 1.5 million transactions through the service, with a total value exceeding PLN 100 million. This represents a 127% year-on-year increase in transaction volume and nearly a threefold increase in transaction value.

Making the service available to OpenAI users also marks an important step in the ongoing cooperation between BLIK and Stripe. The integration creates new opportunities for additional businesses using Stripe’s global payment infrastructure to implement BLIK Recurring Payments.

BLIK Recurring Payments are currently available to customers of eight banks in Poland: PKO Bank Polski, Bank Millennium, ERSTE Bank Polska, ING Bank Śląski, Alior Bank, Nest Bank, Credit Agricole, and SGB Cooperative Banks. The service can be used to pay for digital services, subscriptions, memberships, and other recurring obligations. The list of merchants and service providers offering BLIK Recurring Payments continues to expand.

BLIK is a common standard for mobile payments. The option to use BLIK in mobile banking applications is now available to virtually every customer of domestic payment institutions offering a mobile app. The company Polski Standard Płatności (PSP) is responsible for developing the system. PSP continuously enhances BLIK’s functionality to make the system as user-friendly and versatile as possible. The shareholders of PSP are Alior Bank, Millennium Bank, Erste Bank Polska, ING Bank Śląski, mBank, PKO Bank Polski, and Mastercard.
