Nearly 3 bn BLIK transactions in 2025 and over 2 m new users
In 2025, BLIK users completed a total of 2.9 bn transactions worth PLN 441.5 bn (EUR 104.9 bn). The fourth quarter was a key contributor to the annual result, generating approximately 27% of the total yearly volume. In terms of the number of operations, e-commerce remains the strongest channel, traditionally recording the highest sales peaks at the end of the year. The growing popularity of all services has resulted in a cumulative total of 10 bn transactions worth PLN 1.4 tn (EUR 332.5 bn) since the system’s launch. BLIK has also continued to expand its active customer base – over the past 12 months, more than 2 m new users joined the system, bringing the number of active accounts to 20.7 m at the end of December.
Dynamic growth and new records
The strength of the system in 2025 is reflected in the fact that within just 12 months, Poles completed over 40% of the total number of transactions executed during BLIK’s entire first decade of operations. This translated into an average of 8 m transactions per day, meaning that approximately 92 payments were processed every second. On the most intensive day of the past year, users carried out nearly 13 m transactions. The increase in activity was particularly visible in the fourth quarter, during which 785.7 m operations were completed, with a total value of PLN 121.7 bn (EUR 29 bn). The average value of a single shopping basket in 2025 amounted to PLN 151 (EUR 36).
E-commerce as BLIK’s growth engine
Online shopping remains the foundation of the system’s growth, generating the highest transaction volumes in the past year. In 2025, the number of BLIK e-commerce transactions increased by 20% year-on-year, allowing this channel to maintain its dominant position, accounting for nearly half of all transactions in the system. Users made 1.4 bn payments in online stores, with a total value of PLN 219 bn (EUR 52 bn) (up 27% year-on-year). Between October and December alone, Poles completed nearly 400 m payments in this channel. The average online payment amount reached PLN 158 (EUR 37.5).
Users are also increasingly opting for flexible payment solutions, further supporting BLIK’s expansion in e-commerce. Last year, BLIK Pay Later and recurring payments gained particular momentum. The former service, currently offered by four banks[i], recorded 235.5 thousand transactions worth PLN 59.4 m (EUR 14.1 m), with an average transaction value of PLN 252 (EUR 60). Even stronger growth dynamics were observed in recurring payments, now available to customers of eight banks[ii]. In 2025, 1.6 m such payments were executed, with a total value of PLN 76 m (EUR 18.1 m) (an average of PLN 48 [EUR 11.4] per transaction).
The sharp increase in the number of transactions in the deferred payment model, which reached approximately 440% year-on-year in 2025, is the strongest proof of how much the market still needs this solution. Combining BLIK – the preferred payment method in e-commerce – with a genuine market demand has proven to be an excellent match, directly translating into such dynamic volume growth. Our priority for the coming quarters is to increase the widespread adoption of these services by strengthening cooperation with acquirers and merchants. We want both BLIK Pay Later and recurring payments to become the default standard at checkout, as they directly contribute to higher basket values and greater purchase frequency
- emphasizes Monika Król, Vice President of Polski Standard Płatności, the operator of BLIK.
Further growth in the POS channel
BLIK is steadily strengthening its presence in stationary stores, maintaining growth dynamics in payment terminals similar to those seen in e-commerce. In 2025, users completed 704.5 m transactions in the POS channel, marking a 22% year-on-year increase. The total value of these operations reached PLN 41.9 bn (~ EUR 10 bn), up 30% compared to the previous year. The highest transaction intensity was recorded in the fourth quarter, when 177 m BLIK payments were made at physical points of sale, with a total value of PLN 11.2 bn (EUR 2.7 bn).
These strong results are largely driven by the growing popularity of contactless payments, which already account for nearly half (48%) of all in-store transactions. By the end of December, 3.9 m users had activated the service, and it has also become a natural choice during international travel. In 2025, the list of countries where BLIK contactless transactions were recorded expanded by 13 new markets. Outside Poland, users most frequently paid contactlessly in Germany (664 000), Italy (291 000), and the Czech Republic (283 000). The average receipt value across the entire POS channel amounted to PLN 59 (EUR 14), while for contactless transactions alone it was PLN 47 (EUR 11.2).
P2P – a standard in Poland, a revolution in Europe
Transfers to a phone number remain one of the system’s key features, consistently maintaining strong double-digit growth. Throughout 2025, users completed 735.1 m such transactions (up 22% year-on-year), meaning that every fourth BLIK transaction is now a direct money transfer to a phone. On average, Poles made 2 m such transfers per day, with an average transaction value of PLN 167 (EUR 39.7).
At the same time, BLIK is bringing the experience of instant settlements to the European level. Following successful tests with Portugal’s MB WAY, the system executed its first pilot euro transfer from Spain’s Bizum to PKO Bank Polski. This marks part of a broader strategy to build European interoperability within the EuroPA alliance.
Successful pilots with our partners in Spain and Portugal have ultimately confirmed that connecting our systems is technically feasible and fully secure. Our goal is to make cross-border transfers to a phone number as common and simple as domestic settlements. It is a major operational challenge, but we already have the foundations in place to offer this convenience to 450 million Europeans
- says Dariusz Mazurkiewicz, CEO of Polski Standard Płatności, the operator of BLIK.
Access to cash with BLIK
A key complement to the modern payments ecosystem remains fast and reliable access to cash, enabled by the broad acceptance of BLIK at ATMs and retail outlets. In 2025, users completed a total of 79 m such operations (up 12% year-on-year). The average transaction value in this channel amounted to PLN 731 (EUR 173.6).
The role of the cashback service (cash withdrawals directly at the checkout during everyday shopping) has also been steadily increasing. Last year, Poles used this option 1.3 m times, representing a 7% increase compared to the same period in 2024. The service is currently available at more than 20,000 retail locations nationwide, including popular chains such as Żabka and Dino. At the same time, BLIK users can conveniently withdraw cash from over 13,000 ATMs (including more than 8,000 devices within banks’ own networks), where transaction limits remain at a high and comfortable level.
Steady expansion and strong user loyalty
In 2025, the user base continued its stable growth, increasing by 2.2 m over twelve months. The fourth quarter was particularly dynamic in this respect, with nearly 1 m active users added during that period, bringing the total number to 20.7 m by the end of December. Bank customers using BLIK perform an average of 12 transactions per month, making it their primary tool for everyday payments.
BLIK is a common standard for mobile payments. The option to use BLIK in mobile banking applications is now available to virtually every customer of domestic payment institutions offering a mobile app. The company Polski Standard Płatności (PSP) is responsible for developing the system. PSP continuously enhances BLIK’s functionality to make the system as user-friendly and versatile as possible. The shareholders of PSP are Alior Bank, Millennium Bank, Santander Bank Polska, ING Bank Śląski, mBank, PKO Bank Polski, and Mastercard.
