The Supervisory Board of Polish Payment Standard has appointed Piotr Puchalski as President of the company’s Management Board. He will assume the position effective 11 January 2027. The new CEO has more than 20 years of experience in the financial and payments sectors, gained, among others, at BNP Paribas, mBank and on the Supervisory Board of Polski Standard Płatności (BLIK). Throughout his career, he has been responsible for areas including the development of mobile payments and e-commerce, as well as growing customer portfolios and revenues and achieving high NPS scores.
The new President will step into the role at a time when BLIK is continuing to scale and expand internationally. In the coming years, the company will focus on developing new services, strengthening its partnerships with banks and other key stakeholders, and further expanding BLIK’s presence across the European payments market.

Piotr Puchalski is a manager with more than 20 years of experience in the financial and payments sectors. He currently serves as Managing Director of Retail and Business Banking at BNP Paribas, where he is responsible for business growth and for building customer satisfaction and loyalty. Previously, he spent 16 years at mBank and also served as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Polish Payment Standard (BLIK). Throughout his career, he has worked on initiatives including growth in retail banking, the development of payment innovations and e-commerce, and achieving high NPS scores, gaining experience in both the Polish and international markets. He is a graduate of the University of Łódź and the Advanced Management Program at IESE Business School in Barcelona.

BLIK has achieved significant scale, but there are still substantial opportunities for further growth – both through the development of new services and through an increasing presence outside Poland. Piotr Puchalski will succeed Dariusz Mazurkiewicz, who has led the Company since June 2017. The Management Board will also continue to include Monika Król, Vice President of the Management Board; Katarzyna Matuszczyk, Member of the Management Board and CFO; and Grzegorz Laudy, Member of the Management Board and CTO.
BLIK is a common standard for mobile payments. The option to use BLIK in mobile banking applications is now available to virtually every customer of domestic payment institutions offering a mobile app. The company Polski Standard Płatności (PSP) is responsible for developing the system. PSP continuously enhances BLIK’s functionality to make the system as user-friendly and versatile as possible. The shareholders of PSP are Alior Bank, Millennium Bank, Erste Bank Polska, ING Bank Śląski, mBank, PKO Bank Polski, and Mastercard.
