Record-breaking Black Weekend – Poles completed 30 million BLIK transactions, spending 5 billion PLN

Black Weekend has permanently established itself as one of the biggest shopping events in Poland. During this period, consumers particularly value the speed and security of payments, which is why they eagerly choose BLIK – both online and in-store. This year, between Friday, 28 November and Monday, 1 December BLIK users completed nearly 30 m transactions with a total value of almost 5 bn PLN.

On Black Friday alone, customers paid with BLIK more than 8 m times, spending nearly 1.5 bn PLN – 17 percent more than the year before. Over the remainder of the weekend, BLIK users completed 6.7 m transactions on Saturday and 6.3 m on Sunday. The record, however, was set on Cyber Monday – on that day, across both online and brick-and-mortar sales channels, a total of 8.6 m BLIK transactions were made.

More than two-thirds of purchases made online

As usual, the largest share of operations were e-commerce payments – 20.9 m transactions worth 3.7 bn PLN. The peak moment occurred on Cyber Monday, 1 December 2025, when the number of online BLIK payments reached nearly 5.9 m.

In-store payments on Black Friday

Black Weekend 2025 once again confirmed BLIK’s strong position in physical stores. Between 28 November and 1 December, users completed more than 7.3 m transactions at POS terminals, significantly surpassing last year’s results. Over half of these payments (3.8 m) were made using a BLIK code, confirming sustained interest in this payment method in brick-and-mortar locations. The total value of in-store purchases also increased, reaching nearly 500 m PLN – 24 percent more than a year earlier. As in previous years, the highest number of in-store transactions was recorded in Warsaw (over 400,000 operations), followed by Kraków (almost 160,000) and Wrocław (over 155,000). Right behind them was Poznań, which once again outpaced Łódź. In both cities, more than 125,000 payments were completed.

Black Weekend is a time when consumers pay particular attention to the convenience and security of their payments. According to DXC research published last week, 63 percent of respondents who used Black Friday-related offers chose BLIK specifically because of these factors. The strong popularity of this payment method is further confirmed by the analysis of this year’s Black Weekend results – Poles’ rising shopping activity translated into record-breaking BLIK performance.
